The other evening I was so exhausted after camp. I needed to drive from one town to the other to get back home. I was so tired and cranky. I had no one to ride with me, which didn't help the fact that I thought I was going to fall asleep while driving in the dark. Of course, I resorted to my phone. If I could just talk to someone on the phone while I was driving home, then surely I could stay awake. Lo and behold, my phone died. I thought I had no one to talk to until God pricked my heart and reminded me that we ALWAYS have someone to talk to.
Proverbs 18:24-A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
I began to pray and talk to God about my day, needs, problems, etc. The yawns that were previously continual became non-existent. My bad mood completely vanished. I later told one of my best friends about the awesome time I had by just talking to God and she told me this- "Sometimes God takes away all other options until we can only turn to Him." That is soooo true!
I am so thankful that God corrects us when we are wrong, however, I pray that I never have to be reminded of that again. God should be our number one, not our last resort.
Matthew 6:33- But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Go to God first in any problem and situation. He has promised to be there in all different situations and all times. Tap into his power and make Him your number one priority.
Psalms 18:2-The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
