Being a Witness for God

Every where we go, we have the opportunity to witness to those around us.  Whether we are at school, work, the grocery store, etc., we need to tell others about Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20
19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

We each have a choice to make...to tell others about Christ or keep it to ourselves. Oftentimes we have the opportunity to talk to those around us, and we don’t. No matter where we are, there is somebody that needs to hear what we have to say.

With every passing second, we are getting closer to the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Just look around and see what is going on in the world today- the state of our economy, the presidential election coming up, more and more feeling free to live “alternative” lifestyles, just to name a few things. As the midnight hour approaches, we have less and less time to tell those around us about God. Even though WE may be ready for the rapture, those around us may not be. They are in desperate need and may not even realize it! I hope that every one of us will choose be witnesses from this day forward.

We undoubtedly have family and friends that are not saved. So what are we waiting for?  Is it fair to allow them to stay on the path to hell without at least warning them of their future? Would you want to be warned? Let’s go talk to them about Christ- give them an opportunity to make heaven their home.

Sometimes we do invite people and they come to church. Do we hinder the work of the Holy Ghost when they visit our services? There is a story about a girl who invited her friend to church. The friend came and was very attentive to the salvation message the pastor was preaching. The girl who invited her though whispered to her throughout the message. Finally, the friend said, "You have had the privilege to hear these messages your whole life. I'd like to be able to hear this one." We must be careful that we allow the Holy Ghost to do His work when they come- that is an important part of witnessing.

We don’t know exactly when we will leave this world, but we do know that the signs of the time indicate it is soon. So, with the little time we do have, we need to go and spread God’s Word.  Tell them what God has done in our lives.  Invite, invite, invite! What we say and do now, could affect the eternal lives of our lost loved ones. Every little thing we say and do is vital! So, let’s get out there and be witnesses for God to those around us!!!
