This morning I woke up for my first day of college classes. I was all excited and nervous.. wondering what to wear, how to do my hair, etc. My roomie had left and came back only to say "Ughh, get your umbrella.. its POURING". My initial thought: "SERIOUSLY? How could it rain on my first day!!??" I wasn't joyful about it for sure.
Matthew 5:[45] That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
That is how we are in our lives. We start out happy, joyful, ready to please God and do our best for Him but when it gets a little stormy, we get mad and just give up a lot of times. We cannot allow ourselves to be only sunshine Christians. The rain is important for crops to grow, cessation of burn bans, rivers to be filled, etc. It is clear that we ALL need rain, whether we want it or not. Let's choose to be strong and faithful and even happy when the storms come.
Hosea 10:[12] Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
