I was thinking today about how whenever we get asked: Who is your best friend? What is your number 1 priority? Who do you trust the most? Who do you turn to for all of your problems? We all (or some of us) may say "Jesus!" to all of the questions. It's the expected response. It's the "right" answer.
But, do we really mean what we say? Do we practice what we preach? Do we possess what we profess?
How many times a day do we text or talk on the phone? ALL THE TIME. We chat online, skype, FaceTime, etc. The social world is full of methods of communication. I wonder why? The more communicating we do with others, the less we spend with the Lord. It isn't a deep concept. Its a simple math equation. If you are spending more time with others, you most likely aren't spending that time in prayer or worship. We are all probably guilty of this.
Don't let Jesus become 2nd place.
Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
Colossions 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Remember why you were made... To serve Jesus. The cares of this world really don't matter so much when you think of the big picture.
